The Leaching of Palladium from Polymetallic Oxide Ores using Alkaline Ferricyanide Solutions

چکیده
The present study investigated a novel method of alkaline ferricyanide leaching to extract palladium (Pd) from Western Australian disseminated platinum-group metal (PGM) oxide ore that bears Ni and Cu. While cyanide has been used leach Pd, it is well known for its toxicity large consumption in the presence base metals. A more benign alternative, form ferricyanide, evaluated this research serve combined role lixiviant oxidant. Various parameters, such as concentration (1–30 g/L), dissolved oxygen level (up 25 ppm), pH (10–12), temperature (20–80°C), were evaluate Pd extraction. extraction was found be most sensitive with doubling when raised 20°C 80°C. highest 76.1% achieved at 10 g/L 11, DO 15 ppm, 80°C, 10% solids. system showed high selectivity over other metals (Pt, Co, Ni, Cu). co-extractions (Co, Cu, Ni) all below 2%, Pt range temperatures investigated. Although conventional cyanidation low (1 kg/t) slightly better performance extraction, significantly improved settleability filterability slurry considering finely ground nature high-clay content lateritic ores. In contrast, filter or settle poorly.

Microwave and Ultrasound Augmented Leaching of Complicated Zinc Oxide Ores in Ammonia and Ammonium Citrate Solutions
Recovery of zinc from low grade zinc oxide ore is attempted with ammonia and ammonium citrate solutions augmented by microwave roasting and ultrasound radiation. The influence of the ammonia-ammonium ratio, roasting temperature, ultrasound power, and leaching time were assessed on the recovery of zinc. A maximum zinc recovery of 88.57% could be achieved at a roasting temperature of 673 K, leach...
متن کاملMineralogy and uranium leaching of ores from Triassic Peribaltic sandstones
The recovery of uranium and other valuable metals from Polish Peribaltic sandstones were examined. The solid-liquid extraction is the first stage of the technology of uranium production and it is crucial for the next stages of processing. In the laboratory experiments uranium was leached with efficiencies 71-100 % by acidic lixiviants. Satisfactory results were obtained for the alkaline leachin...
متن کاملBacterial leaching of discarded copper ores from Yongping, China
The elementary and phase analysis of discarded copper ores from Yongping of China has been performed. The experiments of extracting copper from the discarded copper ores were done with the mixed bacteria obtained through a series of enrichment, separation, domestication and combination tests. The results show that in the process of bioleaching, the pH value rises at first and drops gradually. T...
متن کاملStudy on the Leaching of Mercuric Oxide with Thiosulfate Solutions
Mercury is receiving more concern due to its high mobility and high toxicity to human health and the environment. Restrictive legislations and world-wide efforts have been made on mercury control, especially the release and disposal of mercury-contaminated wastes. This paper describes a novel technology for detoxifying mercury-containing solid wastes with thiosulfate salts. Various parameters w...
